WELCOME!
Welcome, welcome everyone to Magic of the Realms! Okay, here is the low down on how the sites rules go. It's really going to be simple. So pay attention it would be well advised if you did. Also note this, these rules may be updated at any point in time so remember to check to see when and if any updates to the list of rules are made. Have fun reading and good luck! I hope to see you all around!
THE RULES
1. REGISTERING
First thing your going to need to do before you register is that your going to want to look the whole site over thoroughly to make sure that this site is going to be the right one for you. This is a Magic School type of RPG, which means yes a close but not exact relative to Harry Potter, for example the kind like as in Harry, Ron, and other wizard and witch beings. That is what most of it is all about. However some normal people or Nonies as there called also live within and amongst the magic folk that do reside within this world. We do have normal people in real life so they can be here. Also as said before varieties of walks of life that are magical or supernatural in some way also live amongst the many. Also this site will be at its highest rating due to being unsure as to just how far the explicit content will go, so yes it is rated PG-13 for mature Teens and above. It's placed this way as a safely measure. I won't lie this is not a RPG for the little itty bitty kiddies five to six years old, so parents, if your reading this, and you don't want your kids getting caught up in stuff that may be too mature for then quite yet, please I request that you do not let them join. As for everything else look over what we have to offer and then make your decision. Once you have if you have decided to join, just make your way to the registering section under log in or register and follow the simple instructions that are required, remember to read the TOS. Once registered then you can move on to the next step. And if you have a vision problem, have no worries there will be a place where guests can make comments or ask for help. Just give the administration a holler. After all some of us many know what it really is like, we do tend to get people with disabilities.
2. GETTING STARTED
If your reading this, that means you're already taking your first steps into your journey to destiny. Once you have finished reading this you will be able to move on to making your character and starting your road to where ever it will lead you. Your characters that you make, which I might add you may make as many as your precious heart can desire, just so as long as every one of them is under a separate account and that you can keep track of all of them. Once you start making them they will be looked over and then approved for acceptance. Then when there accepted that will be when your real journey will begin. That is when you can get started on the rping, start on a plot, or add more fun apps to your characters profile. Whatever you choose at that point will be well up to you. Just don't hesitate to give the Staff a yell if you don't understand something.
3. ROLE PLAYING
Okay, one quick simple thing about role playing. NEVER EVER DO GOD MODDING! For one its not cool, and two its not fair to the other rpers. Now its understandable storytelling wise to be able to move a plot along that people can say that a person did something, especially if they know there going to be on the move or doing something that requires the other player to follow suite. Then its alright to an extent to have a bit of well so and so did such and such. But its against the rules to say it during a fight that so and so went down when they really didn't. Fights mostly are the biggest no no. And if someone request that you change your post because they feel its too much god modding, then for heavens sake be kind a change it so I don't have to get complaints that someone didn't follow the rules. As for how threads will work, most will be seamless until there finished out. If your still working a thread and your characters may be switching areas of interest, then just let an admin know so we can just move the thread to that area so everything is kept track of, yet this may not come as a problem depending on how things are set up. It will organize things and keep track of where your at. Also be kind to new comers, they may not be used to rping and that, so they may be a bit slower at it than those who have done it for years. Welcome them in like you may have once been welcomed into your very first rpg and help them get started on there rpg experience. Please no porn pics in any of the threads. That is not allowed and is strictly against the TOS. If I find that anyone has posted any porn anywhere, rping or other I will ban them permanently and remove their account. As for other things, be teen reasonable. Just please remember not to go overboard and abuse the privileges, for that is what they really are, are privileges.
4. OUT OF CHARACTER
As for out of character stuff some to most of the same rules apply as they do in the role playing. But please while here leave all your personal bias stuff at the proverbial door when you come on here. I don't want any stupid dramatic fights breaking out over someone calling someone something that they are not. Anything real life that has to do with politics, religion, and other such topics will be handled in a very open minded and respectful manner. There are many walks of life out there, so please be kind enough to respect what they are. And as for topics to discuss, there are boards that you guys can post in to your hearts content about anything and everything imaginable.
5. WRITING
Okay many people feel that they have to have a word amount limit for posts. Well you want to know what, it bogus. It is not quality writing at all. It's more filling and fluff than anything. Just a bunch of fluff and stuff that doesn't always have anything good within it. Quality is what you can describe, say, and have your character do while still getting to the point swiftly as possible. Now granted not all posts should be freakin' short, but it just means that your not going to have to sit there and wonder, oh well did I get enough words, lets see let me go count them to make sure. NO!!! You don't have to do that here. I won't require it. What I will require though is the best grammar, spelling, and writing skills that you may actually have. That's what I want, I want people would love to rp and to write, and will even be willing to wait on someone so that other person can come up with a wicked post that sounds good that may come even a couple of days later than it originally would have. So yeah that I do request that you take into consideration. Also if someone requests that that they cannot see size one font, it may not the best of options to use it at least with them as much, for you see there some people that may not be able to read it. So please if a person asks you to change your font please at least change it to the standard size 2.
6. SITE INFORMATION
All your in game needs will be mostly all in one location area for your viewing pleasure. Please I highly suggest that you look it over before you go making any characters or threads seeing is how you will need to know some of the stuff that is listed. Other than that there isn't much else to say except for the fact that any and all information is copyright to there respective owners. SO NO STEALING!
7. CONTESTS AND OTHER AWARDS
Here on Magic of the Realms we will be more than likely having contests and other awards that we will occasionally be diving out to members who come to deserve it. So getting in there and supporting the site in any way is the best thing you as a member can do. You never know the admins may throw you a juicy bone if you do.
8. THE CHARACTERS
Well my friend now your down to the itty gritty here. The character, your hero, supporting character, villain, or crone in a plot. Every good hero or evil villain is going to need a team, and every good team is going to need a hero/villain or two. So it depends on how you start your character out. You may want to talk with some of the other members a bit and find out if they wouldn't mind being a supporting or co hero/villain with you. Oh and villains are always fun. However Magic of the Realm may have its sites own main characters or canons. Which are probably personally created by the owner and some of the staff. So please do NOT WHAT SO EVER steal the materials, why cause I will find a way to hunt you down like a Adari (magical police) would and rip you out a new hole in your body. No not really, but I may find you to ask you to please get rid of what you stole. It really isn't nice to steal other peoples works so please I beg of you just to not do it at all. Also your going to want to make your character stick out in a unique way. What will make your character unique from the rest of the Joe blows. That is what you'll have to decide. Make your character memorable. It will determine whether that makes them the hero, the support, the villain, or other. And even support and villains sometimes can be just as memorable too, as much as a hero can. Also I would like to note, NO HARRY POTTER CANON NAMES! This is an original magic school rp. So basically I don't want to see Harry Potter going to school in America. If I see any canons from the Harry Potter verse I will deny the applications!
9. CANONS
Canons are an important element to any site. They should be filled quicker that any. Whats really nice though is that you can play not only a canon, but you can still play an original type of character. The main focus here though is having the characters from Magic of the Realm if there are any first and definite original characters that can interact with others and the cast. It was be best to check the canons list to see what is available from time to time. But if there are canons available now please do check in with an admin to see if you can potentially play the character. If the admin says go ahead and try, it means the character is available for audition and one may be able to try out for it. If it is approved, then and only then can the character form be filled out for it so it may be processed for approval. Yes I know its kind of a long process, but its not just about rping, its about skill and how well you know or could interact with the character. However once the Canon is approved in the profiling part, then the rping can begin. Yes originals are easier and fun, but canons have more stable part in things. Also until canons are taken by someone to play them they are considered NPC's (non player characters) to the staff, who can play them in that case to free will.
10. HAVE FUN!
This is the most important rule of all. If your having fun, then we as the staff are having fun. So this is the best rule of them all. So get out there and start your path to magic!
